What does the Dan Kitching 35 Foundation do?

The Dan Kitching35Foundation raises money to make a difference to the lives of the families and the people who are receiving treatment for cancer at the Queen’s Centre, Cottingham, near Hull.

Danny Kitching was a dearly loved husband and father of 3 who’s life was cut tragically short due to aggressive bowel cancer – but, even in the most difficult of times, Danny’s compassion and care for others always shined through.

Whilst receiving treatment at the Queen’s Centre, Danny and his family realised that patients who were being treated on the wards and in the outpatients department could do with extra support that is not available from the centre.

One of the things we can help with is to arrange days out and weekend breaks for the patient and immediate family. We feel this is very important especially when you are on a recovery week before the next cycle, we saw this ourselves with Danny.

This could be at local caravan parks including travel, or days out with taxis to the train station, rail travel etc. also if you feel you need any form of support then please approach us.

To take advantage of the Dankitching35foundation support please see one of the staff and ask for a form which confirms you are receiving treatment from the centre.

The Foundation keeps the memories of the wonderful and deeply caring Danny Kitching alive by raising money to support cancer patients and their families to be as comfortable as possible while receiving treatment as an outpatient and on the wards.
